Although both sides were responsible for the horrible treatment of the African-Americans in the past, the African-Americans have just as much to be ashamed of as white America. Both sides have blood on their hands. The African-American have to face the fact that our ancestors were stolen or forced into slavery by European people who wanted to profit from their labor. The European people have to face the fact that they were happy to take our young men and women as slaves. They viewed us as subhuman and did everything in their power to make sure we had no rights.
